EARS:

Octophony is a term used by some to designate an eight-channel spatialisation of sound. It generally implies a preconceived plan of spatial relationships which are fixed on a recording medium and played back in performance over a system in which the eight channels are routed to eight loudspeakers on a fixed one-to-one basis.

EARS 2:

Eight (octo) Sounds (Phony), the use of eight loudspeakers to playback audio. In most octophonic systems each loudspeaker will receive a unique audio signal.

There are two pieces from Prof. Leigh Landy in Octophony:
1)BBC or Not
2)China/Music/Old/New

As far as I know, they are very first two octophonic pieces performed in China, especially, China/Music/Old/New will have its world premiere in Beijing in Oct 2013.
