像最初被人认知的“密林音乐”（Jungle）一样，“鼓与贝斯”（Drum 'n' Bass）作为跳舞音乐的其中一个流派，在二十世纪九十年代早期开创于伦敦和布里斯托尔（Bristol）。受雷鬼舞曲（Dub Reggae），嘻哈音乐（HipHop）和科技舞曲（Techno）音乐影响，它的特色在于疾速的数码碎拍（breakbeat）和沉缓的低音律动。在“鼓与贝斯”众多潜在的流派当中还有Jump Up，TechStep， Hardstep，和Drill 'n' Bass等风格。

A genre of dance music originally known as Jungle, drum 'n' bass developed in London and Bristol in the early 1990s. Influenced by dub reggae, HipHop, and Techno, it is characterised by rapid digitized breakbeats and a slow bass groove. Among the myriad of sub-genres of drum 'n' bass are Jump Up, TechStep, Hardstep, and drill 'n' bass

62	mungo	鼓与贝斯的译法有些死板，没有体现出原文术语中的文化韵味！如果译为“鼓函贝斯”的话，第一：发音口语化；第二：“函”比“和”意义深刻。 The Translation of "Gu3 Yu3 Bei4 Si5" is a little bit hidebound, and hardly express the culture in the orginal text. How about "Gu3 Han5 Bei4 Si5"? On one hand, the pronounciation is more like oral Chinese; on the other hand, "Han5" is more meaningful than "He2".	2/4/2009 8:59:37 PM
