扩散是指相对均匀分布的声压变化值所提供的一个空间，或是指声波在空间内分布的过程。如果当声压是均匀分布在空间内的情况下，可以称这个声音得到了很好得扩散。
扩散在空间中的应用是非常重要的，比如音乐厅、教室、工作室的区分和某些需要避开死角的情况，或是某个位置声音较弱亦或是声音听不清楚的情况。
The comparative distribution of sound pressure variations throughout a given space, or the process by which a sound wave is distributed in the space. If sound pressure is uniformly distributed throughout the space, the sound is said to be well diffused.

Electroacoustic diffusion refers to the practice of distributing sound throughout a space using multiple loudspeakers, usually with real-time control over the sound levels, equalisation (filtering) and the placement of the sound.
