The 变形 and 发展 of 材料 is a simple but highly 强大 工具 used in many different 种类 of 樂/乐

发展 of Materials
Experimenting with 声波 处理 can result in the discovery of many exciting and interesting 声 But a successful 作品 is more than just a collection of fantastic 声

We need to be able to identify and choose the very best 声 and then be able to 变形 and develop them to take them forwards and give them a 方向

This is an 提取 from the 作品 虛/抽象 Journeys In this 提取 a 錄/录 of 'Dry Leaves' blowing across a road is transformed and develops

This 变形 is 实现 in three parts

Part Two
B
The 原始/原创 声波 is layered with a copy of itself and the copy is transformed It is transposed down adding a 较低 pitched crunch 声波 into the mix

Part Three
C
The section closes with further transposed copies of the 原始/原创 声波 But this 时间 the 声 are transposed up 制作 较高 crackly 质地（纹理、织体）

How Does This 过程 Work?

The 变形 of the 声 and their 布置 gives the excerpts a 感觉 of 方向 Section C is quite different from section A but the gradual 变形 in section B allows 片段 B and C to remain 连接 through a clear 模式 of 发展

Fact
This 提取 does 包含 声 other than the 粒 ‘Dry Leaves’ these are used to “trigger” the 变形 to act as a point of change from which the 声 can be transformed

作曲 Tip
The whole 过程 of 发展 作品 most effectively if there are similarities which remain between the 原始/原创 and developing 观念 In this way the 听众 can 听 the progression and will be able to 识别 what’s changed

发展 in gradual steps will allow the 听众 to 听 the changes that are taking place However

If the changes are too small the 听众 will 不 听 any 发展

Large changes may leave the listeners feeling completely lost unable to make 感觉 of where they are in the 樂/乐 and what is going on

Relations between Materials
皮埃尔 舍费尔 争论 that there should be a 关系 between the 声波 材料 that you 用 and the way in which the 声 are put together

Therefore it can be really useful to examine the key 声 that you are using to 作品 out their 属性 and then to 用 this 信息 to plan out the developmental 结构 within the 作品

Think about the 形状 of the 声 and if there are any progressions or 自然 变形 that 出现 within them
