You will 学习 about soundwalks and to identify the differences between 声 听 in different 地点 You will be encouraged to make a 聲行/声漫步 and to 录 the 声 that you 听

Why Soundwalks?
These are walks in which we 听 out for all of the 声 which 环绕 us

In order to discover the soundscapes and 声音 环境 that 环绕 us we can go on soundwalks These are planned walks that take you on a pathway past a variety of different 声波 源 You follow the pathway and 听 to the 声 around you you can think of it like a tour but instead of looking at buildings and paintings you are 聆 out for the 声 around you

Soundwalks can introduce us to new 声 and help us to train our 聆 技巧 When 人 take part in their first soundwalks they are often surprised by how many different 声 they can 听

Where Do Soundwalks take place?
Soundwalks might take place within buildings or outside And might either take us to a few 地点 that are very different or to 地点 that 包含 a lot of 类似 声

What do I need for a Soundwalk?

The first thing that you’ll need is a supervisor or a couple of friends who are willing to 听 to 声 with you

This will keep you safe and also give you someone to talk with about the 声 that you 听 on your walk

The next thing that you’ll need is a route

也许 look at a map and try to plan a 旅程 that takes you through a few different areas e g past houses a factory a river near a road but also passes through key 地点 e g town 中心 with the 时钟 bell railway 站 bus 站 shopping 中心

Once you have your route planned then you’ll be ready to set off Be sure to take any supplies with you that you might need snacks are aways a good idea and to be prepared for the weather

Try to set personal 聆 challenges

For 例如 hunting out the most interesting 声波

Or challenging your friends to identify the 声 that you are 听觉 You could play a game like ‘Eye Spy’ but adapt the rules so that they 作品 for 声 ‘Ears Hear’!

Try to minimise the amount of talking while you’re on the 聲行/声漫步 because you’ll miss out on 听觉 the 声 around you

BUT if you 听 some really interesting 声 do point them out to your friends and 也许 discuss them while you’re out and about
There is no point being out with your friends and then ignoring them! It’s much more fun to make soundwalks a joint activity

OPTIONAL – You could 录 the 声 that you 听 on your walk using a mobile phone or a 领域（野外） 錄機/录机 so that you can 听 again to them at a later date

What if I can’t go on a soundwalk?
If for whatever reason you’re 不 able to go on a 聲行/声漫步 then why 不 take a 听 to the Guided 聆 聲行/声漫步 Woodland 聲行/声漫步

Soundwalks and Composition
Some composers 用 soundwalks to collect new 观念 and inspiration as well as to collect 声波 录音 which they can 用 in 作品

You might find some really great 声 around you that can be used within a 作品 or the 声 you find might inspire a 作品

There are so many interesting 声 around us and with the world being such a changing place there are always new 声 to be 已有

What 声 do you hear?
Can you 描述 the 音高 时值 and 相对 响度 of the sounds?

What about the 声波 Qualities?

Copy your 音符 onto the 算機/计算机 and upload them for other 人 to see and compare

Find the description of another 聲行/声漫步 that someone else has made

Can you 想像 the 声 that they 听 from the descriptions provided?

Did they 听 anything that you heard?

What 声 were 独特 to either of you?

What is it in these 声 that allow you to 识别 the location?

Consider the 音高 时值 模式 and 声波 品质 of the 声
