CHEARS:

EARS:

A genre, originally evolved from poetry (text-sound or phonetic poetry) involving works that are to be heard in the first instance, not read. Artists involved in this genre have come from the worlds of poetry, fine arts, performance (live) art and music. A number of electroacoustic works in which the voice is the only or key sound source belong to this category.

EARS 2:

This is ‘an in between art form’ that involves the sounds of the spoken voice and eventually other vocal utterances as the primary source material for composition. Some text-sound works are solely performed live. Most, however involve technology. Another term for text-sound composition is text-sound poetry (or simply sound poetry) identifying that it has to do with poetry/literature as well as music.
