the MSU Electric Monster Laptop Ensemble introduce laptop based performance to CEMC students. The laptop music present a real turn within electronic music as it is bringing serious interactive music to the performance side allowing musicians to perform with instrument that present the advantage to be versatile and open a wide range of possibilities from the perspective of electronic composition, improvisation as well as performance. during the introduction lecturing that was given at CEMC the MSU Electric Monster Laptop Ensemble performed work specially written for the ensemble, and went through the techniques and possibilities that are offered by such ensemble.
The Electric Monster Laptop Ensemble is the laptop ensemble at Montana State University. Laptop computers have revolutionized the way music can be made around the turn of the 21st century with its mobility and connectivity readily in place.
The Electric Monster Laptop Ensemble brings together the tradition of ensemble music playing and the computational power of the latest laptops at the crossroads of human-machine performative experience.
